ABOUT QUANG

Quang Nguyen

Born in 1962 in South Vietnam, Quang Nguyen embodies the American Dream through resilience, determination, and unwavering gratitude for freedom. At just 12 years old, as Saigon fell to communist forces in April 1975, his father made the heartbreaking decision to place him and his brother aboard one of the last American C-130 evacuation flights. What followed was a harrowing journey through refugee camps in the Philippines and Guam before reuniting with his family in the United States. This early experience instilled in him a profound appreciation for liberty, opportunity, and the sacrifices made to preserve them.

Settling in California, young Quang faced the challenges of starting over in a new country. He learned English while working as a janitor to support his education. His hard work paid off when he graduated from California State University, Long Beach with a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Arts. Quang’s professional career included Northrop Corporation, Fluor Corporation, Sonance In-wall Audio, and Knox Corporation. Seeking new horizons, he moved to Arizona and founded Caddis Advertising, a successful marketing and branding firm that has served clients across the state for decades.

For more than 22 years, Quang has proudly called Prescott Valley home. He and his wife, Mai, a dedicated school nurse, have been married for 33 years. Together they raised two children: son Casey, who works in the private sector, and daughter Sarah, a commissioned officer serving in the U.S. Navy’s Submarine Force. Their family values are rooted in faith, hard work, and service.

Quang’s personal story fuels his legislative work. As a Republican representative for Legislative District 1, he serves as Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee and on the Appropriations and Public Safety committees. His policies reflect lessons learned from escaping communism, strong borders, public safety, education that teaches the dangers of tyranny, and protecting constitutional rights.

A lifelong defender of the Second Amendment, Quang proudly serves as President of the Arizona State Rifle and Pistol Association (ASRPA). In this role, he champions firearm safety education, promotes hunting and competitive shooting for young Americans, and works to preserve constitutional gun rights. As Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, he has blocked numerous anti-2A bills, earning multiple Legislator of the Year awards from gun rights organizations, including the Arizona Citizens Defense League and the Second Amendment Foundation.

When not at the Capitol, Representative Nguyen enjoys riding motorcycles through Arizona’s scenic landscapes, fly fishing on quiet streams, spending time with family, and mentoring the next generation. His life is a testament that with freedom and opportunity, anything is possible.

Representative Nguyen remains deeply committed to fighting for the principles that gave him a second chance: liberty, prosperity, and the American Dream for all Arizonans.
